HI GIANNI.

With deep sorrow, Bottecchia Cicli joins in mourning the passing of Gianni Savio, a man who gave so much to the world of cycling. Over the years, Gianni has contributed to writing unforgettable pages of our history, creating season after season a deep bond with Bottecchia, marked by the same great common vision.
The bond with Bottecchia dates back to the 90s, when Gianni was in charge of the team at Zg Mobili - Selle Italia and with which he achieved important results such as the final classification of the Tirreno-Adriatico with Stefano Colagè, the stages of the Giro d'Italia with Andrea Ferrigato and Massimo Ghirotto and a queen stage of the Tour de France with Nelson Cacaito Rodriguez, victorious in Val Thorens ahead of Piotre Ugrumov and Marco Pantani.
The relationship then intensifies starting from 2017 when Bottecchia becomes a technical partner of Androni Sidermec and does not leave until 2022 when the team becomes Drone Hopper Androni Giocattoli. The rest is history. Under the guidance of Gianni and on Bottecchia bikes, some of the great talents of our time have been trained such as Davide Ballerini, Mattia Cattaneo, Fausto Masnada, Andrea Vendrame, Ivan Sosa and Egan Bernal.
Today, in remembering Gianni, we are not only celebrating a great man of cycling, but also a friend who left an indelible mark. His energy, passion and dedication will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you, Gianni, for walking this path with us.
